This is also the main reason why the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO has declared this park as a protected World Heritage Site. Being declared as such by a very prestigious organization is reason enough for tourists to visit the place.  Second, the underground river itself has also been voted in as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. This site has been selected as such in 2012 from the thousands of natural wonders candidates from all over the world.
